In order to enable and foster research on these topics the Department has established the research Institute for Geopolitical Analyses. Its main objective is to support the educational, research and other academic activities of the department in the fields of Geopolitics, international politics and international relations as well as the relationship of the above to aspects of international law. The knowledge thus produced at both theoretical and practical levels will enable the production of research papers on the above topics by students of the department and scientists expertizing in the aforementioned fields of research.

Moreover, the Institute aims at becoming a scientific hub through the cooperation with other Universities, institutes and international stakeholders in the form of European and other programmes.
